The tank has an external reservoir (11) serving as a storage chamber (17) for receiving a heat transfer medium i.e. water. An internal reservoir (13) adjoining the external reservoir via a partition (14) serves as inflow and stratification chambers (15, 16). A guiding channel (27) leads into the internal reservoir for supplying the medium. The guiding channel and an outlet opening (22) are designed such that the medium flows into the internal reservoir horizontally. A deflector wall (19) is arranged at a distance from the outlet opening in an inflow direction of the medium.
