The method for dosing a chemical into a fluid stream flowing in a main line (2), using a dosing device, comprises guiding a bypass stream from the fluid stream over a tap (3) and then combining with the fluid stream over an opening (6), dosing the chemicals to the bypass stream in the suction side of a jet pump (12) that is flow throughable by the bypass stream as propellant jet, and throttling the fluid stream in the main line combined to the bypass stream in such a way that the pressure in the fluid stream during combining the bypass stream is less than the bypass stream. The method for dosing a chemical into a fluid stream flowing in a main line (2), using a dosing device, comprises guiding a bypass stream from the fluid stream over a tap (3) and then combining with the fluid stream over an opening (6), dosing the chemicals to the bypass stream in the suction side of a jet pump (12) that is flow throughable by the bypass stream as propellant jet, and throttling the fluid stream in the main line combined to the bypass stream in such a way that the pressure in the fluid stream during combining the bypass stream is less than the bypass stream. The chemical is pumped during dosing by a peristaltic pump (8) and/or a piezo membrane pump. An independent claim is included for a device for dosing chemicals into a fluid stream with a main line.
