The drain has an intake channel and an outflow collecting channel formed within a housing (4) and separated from one another by an impounding area for forming a siphon. A housing cover is provided at an upper side of the housing, where the cover covers middle area of the housing and limits an overflow section connecting the impounding area with the collecting channel. The intake channel extends between an external wall (7) and a separation wall of the housing. The section extends beyond an upper edge of the intake channel in a vertical direction. The cover is removable from the housing. An independent claim is also included for a sanitary tub comprising a tub body.
