The insert has an upper layer and a lower layer, where the lower layer is provided with recesses that extend from an upper surface. The recesses correspond to a tool to be held in form and size and fix the tool in a clamping manner. The upper layer has through holes (14-19) that correspond to the recesses in the lower layer. The upper layer covers edges of the lower layer in a lateral manner. The upper and lower layers are made of same or different materials. The lower layer is formed softer than the upper layer.
