The transport container (1) has container walls (10,10a,10b) that are made of hard foam, where the container walls have a breakdown in the form of an air gap (30) with air gap surfaces opposite to each other. A connecting element (40) is inserted in the container walls, in order to close the air gap, where the connecting element bypasses the air gap and penetrates the air gap surfaces. An independent claim is also included for a method for repairing the breakdown of the transport container.
