The plug has a ceramic heating element (110) that is in form of a preheating pin (112), and a temperature sensor (124) that is in form of a thermo-element (126). The temperature sensor is housed partially in an undercut portion (120) of the heating element. The temperature sensor and the heating element are connected by a bonding material. A filling material (130) having a ceramic component is filled in the undercut portion of the heating element, where the filling material is composed of a part of silicon nitride. The heating element is partly made of silicon nitride. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabrication of a glow plug.
