A carrier part connects the transverse support with the bumper and adjacent components of a body (1) of a motor vehicle. The bumper, transverse support and the carrier part are formed as a pre-mountable structural unit. Mounting flanges (6) of the carrier part and the body are bolted with one another. The carrier part and supporting elements of the bumper and the support are manufactured as sheet metal profiles.
