The splitter (10) has two prisms (12, 14), which comprise four respective sides (18-32). The splitter is arranged in a beam path of a laser beam (40) emitted by an optical resonator. The prisms are connected by an optical boundary layer (16) forming a flat level. The optical boundary layer separates different polarizations of the laser beam, where one of the polarizations is transmitted and the other polarization is reflected. The sides of the prisms are arranged parallel pair-wise to each other. A pair of side surfaces is arranged parallel to the optical boundary layer. An independent claim is also included for a laser device comprising a housing marked by an optical resonator.
