The turbine (10) has at least one flow region (14) partially formed by the turbine housing (12). A movable adjustment device in the form of an axial slide (22) is situated in the housing of the turbine to enable its performance to be varied. The slide is moved by an actuator (30) which is at least partially arranged within an accommodating space (32) in the turbine housing. The accommodating space is in fluid communication with the flow region (14) via at least one flow channel (34, 36) which is preferably formed by a gap between the adjuster and a wall (46) of the turbine housing, or is provided between the flow region and the accommodating space, respectively. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine including an intake channel.
