The machine has a stator (1) consisting of individual segments (3), and a stator carrier (2) radially and externally surrounding the stator in a circumferential direction. The stator carrier has two independent stator carrier parts (4a, 4b) form a channel (6) together with the stator. One of the stator carrier parts (4a) is arranged in an axial distance (7) to the other stator carrier part (4b), where the axial distance is formed identical with an axial distance between additional adjacent stator carrier parts (4c-4g). The stator is inserted in a housing (8) with cylindrical inner contour.
