The crankshaft (1) has a crankpin (2) arranged at a side plate (3) and an eccentric counterweight (5) that is arranged for crankshaft central axis (4) at the side plate of the crankshaft opposite to the crankpin. The counterweight forms a balancing mass for a defined unbalance. An element reducing the flow resistance is formed by an additional component (8) that is arranged on a flange face (7). The component is made of plastic or light metal.
