Method for controlling internal combustion engine, involves operating internal combustion engine temporarily in operating mode, where particles emitted by internal combustion engine are stored in particle filter in operating mode
The method involves operating an internal combustion engine (10) temporarily in an operating mode. The particles emitted by the internal combustion engine are stored in a particle filter (20) in the operating mode. The internal combustion engine is temporarily operated in another operating mode, in which the particles stored in the particle filter are burnt by increased exhaust gas temperature. The fuel quantity of the accumulated afterinjection is divided on two sub- afterinjection quantities. An independent claim is also included for a control device for controlling an internal combustion engine.
