The device (1) has a working container (2) provided with a closable drain opening (3) for discharging concentrate and evaporator contents from the container, where the concentrate and the evaporator contents are produced during a distillation process in a concentrating step. A measuring device (4) i.e. pressure sensor, measures pressure variations inside the container, where the drain opening that is opened during the discharge process is controllably closed based on the pressure variation of preset size made during the discharge process.
