The apparatus (1) has guide tracks (17, 19) attached at a support frame (7) and partially extending along base axes, respectively. The basis axes extend out of a connecting line, which runs at a distance from a workpiece axis. A module (29) is movable along one of the guide tracks. A moving unit i.e. robotic arm, with a tool head e.g. drill head, is attached to the module. The moving unit moves the tool head parallel to the workpiece axis and vertical to one of the guide tracks parallel to a plane, which is fixed by the base axes.
