The device has a water tank (19) for processing cold water and/or hot water (27). An evaporator (28) for steam supply is connected with a deep-drawn chamber (1) via a steam pipe (30). A recooling process is executed after thermal disinfection such that steam/air mixture (22) is sucked out from the chamber in intervals, conducted outside the chamber via a condenser (24) and fed back into the chamber as dehumidified and recooled air. A residual drain (21) guides residues of water guiding lumen into an outlet (3). A labyrinth (31) is provided between the chamber and a door (2).
