The fall protection runner has a fall protection disk, a base body which has a guiding unit to encompass or to engage behind the fall protection disk. A clamping element (1) is provided which is pivotedly mounted in the base body around a pivot axis and is deviated between a releasing position and a locking position. A lever (2) is provided which engages to the clamping element at a distance from pivot axis so that the clamping element is brought into the locking position by a horizontal force component due to the lever.
