The module (32) has a cooling device (48) arranged in sections, and cooling air that flows through housing of a combustion chamber (12). The air is sucked by an internal combustion engine (10) and supplied to the chamber by the housing. Air supplying exhaust gas of the engine is cooled by the device. The housing has a discharge area (45) that is arranged in a flow direction of the air and upstream to a withdrawal area of the device. The air flowing through the housing is supplied with the exhaust gas by the discharge area that is formed as a passage opening in a wall of the housing. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine comprising an exhaust gas recirculation device.
