The endoscope has a head portion (13) comprises an abutment surface at a control unit of a maxillary sinus wall. The abutment surface is extended transverse to a longitudinal extension (24) of an insertion part (16) such that respective surface normal of the abutment surface at each point of the abutment surface is tilted opposite to the longitudinal extension of the insertion part at an angle of about 40 degrees. A viewing direction of the endoscope is tilted opposite to the longitudinal extension over an angle of about 10 degrees.
