PROCESS FOR ACQUIRING THE REASPIRE EXPIRY GAS VOLUME IN A POWERED BREATHING SYSTEM

The method involves determining expiration volume and leakage volume by the integration of an expiration flow and a leakage flow. A difference between the expiration volume and the leakage volume is determined as a rebreathing portion. The volumes are determined by the detection of an absolute flow, where a volume (VA) is formed as measure for an expiration air, when the absolute flow falls below zero value. The measure for the expiration air is temporarily stored in a respiration gas supply system. An independent claim is also included for a device for the supply of a breathing gas.
