The method involves forming a panel core (10) comprising a dimensionally stable elementary panel (12) that is constituted of pressed wood chips, fibers or particles. Raw wooden strips (20) are delivered, where the delivered strips have a thickness ranging between 3 and 6 mm. The raw wooden strips are dried to generate natural deformation of edges of the strips. The strips are glued on a front face (16) of the panel core in a juxtaposed manner while allowing a natural variable clearance between the strips. An independent claim is also included for a panel comprising a handle.
