The device has a steering handlebar (1) to arrange a fixed hub on a steering column, which is extended by lateral arms supporting a handle (10). The handlebar comprises control levers (14) rotating around a pivot axis located toward an inner end of the levers near center of the handlebar. The handlebar includes a protective end-fitting (20) at an extension of each arm and beyond the handle. The end-fitting is returned back toward the handlebar and rejoining the handlebar and the levers when the levers are at rest.
