The implant (2) has a hemispherical cup (3) fixed in a cotyloidal cavity and comprising a polar part (4) and an equatorial part (5) defining a hemispherical cavity (7) in which a prosthetic femoral head is articulated. A metal ring (9) surrounds the equatorial part of the cup, and a portion of a surface external of the polar part is covered by an osteo-conductive porous coating (12), where the cup is made of plastic material. The coating is covered with hydroxyapatite and calcium phosphate.
