Method for protecting differential i.e. power transmission differential, of motor vehicle, involves evaluating dynamics of heat exchange of differential in constant manner to evolve authorized limiting zone in continuous way
The method involves evaluating dynamics of heat exchange of differential in constant manner from estimation of engine torque applied on a differential (CD) and estimation of speed difference (VD) of the differential to evolve an authorized limiting zone in a continuous way. An upper curve (2) is formed by utilizing a set of limitations calculated from the different estimations of engine torque and speed difference for low temperature of the differential, where the upper curve delimits a forbid zone (6). An independent claim is also included for an antiskid system for drive wheels of a motor vehicle.
