The device has a storing unit for storing digital data, and a processing unit for processing the digital data. A man-machine interface is adapted to execute a definition function for defining constraints respected by a manufactured product and to execute a display function for displaying a window of the man-machine interface for permitting an operator to integrally seize the data. The window is adapted in a manner such that a functional model is used to define a configuration of a manufactured product. An independent claim is also included for a method for processing a digital model of a manufactured product.
