The assembly (52) has a guide rail (20) guiding a cradle (22) integrated to a sliding door (12). A flange (56) supports against an internal face (34) of a wall (33). Another flange (58) supports against an external face (35) of the wall. A guiding unit (62) guides the two flanges between a spaced position and a closer position. A spacer (60) is supported against an edge (36) of the rail when the two flanges are in the closer position, and is arranged between the two flanges that are made of steel, aluminum and stainless steel. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a sliding door stopping device (2) a sliding door translation system.
