Adapter for thermal cutting torch, comprises a first element and a second element joining each other, where the first element of axis comprises an upstream portion, a downstream portion, and passages of gas crossing the first element
The adapter comprises a first element (1) and a second element (2) joining each other. The first element of axis comprises an upstream portion, a downstream portion, and passages of gas crossing the first element. The gas passages comprise: inlet openings; outlet openings; an axial central passage (12) with an inlet opening located on the upstream portion and an outlet opening located on the downstream portion; and peripheral passages that are oriented towards the downstream portion and comprise a first peripheral passage radially spaced with respect to the central passage. The adapter comprises a first element (1) and a second element (2) joining each other. The first element of axis comprises an upstream portion, a downstream portion, and passages of gas crossing the first element. The gas passages comprise: inlet openings; outlet openings; an axial central passage (12) with an inlet opening located on the upstream portion and an outlet opening located on the downstream portion; and peripheral passages that are oriented towards the downstream portion and comprise a first peripheral passage radially spaced with respect to the central passage and a second peripheral passage radially spaced with respect to the axial central passage and spaced with respect to the first axial peripheral device. The first axial peripheral passage and a second peripheral passage are connected with each other by forming an internal chamber of gas mixture located at the downstream portion. An inlet opening of the first peripheral passage is located in a chamber of gas distribution provided on the upstream portion. A bypass passage connects the axial central passage to the first chamber of gas distribution. The second element comprises an inner housing with a bottom equipped with openings. The downstream portion of the first element and the internal housing of the second element are shaped and sized so that the first element is inserted through a part of its downstream portion and inserted in the internal housing of the second element. A base (16) of the second element comprises a central opening and peripheral openings. The central opening of the second element is connected with the central passage of the first element. The peripheral openings of the second element are contacted with the internal chamber of the gas mixture of the first element. The first element further comprises: first peripheral passages devices radially spaced with respect to the central passage; second peripheral passages device radially spaced with respect to the axial central passage and the first axial peripheral passage; a main body comprising the gas passages; an inner chamber of the gas mixture; a peripheral envelope; and conical or truncated surfaces arranged in upstream portion. Each first peripheral passage is connected and contacted with second peripheral passage to form internal chambers of the gas mixture. A part of the main body is inserted in the peripheral envelope. The peripheral envelope of the first element is shaped and sized to be inserted tightly into the inner housing of the second element. The first and second peripheral passages are arranged respectively in coaxial concentric rings with the axial central passage. The first element or the second element comprises a fastener such as a fixation device for attaching the adapter to a torch body (C). The fixation device has a thread. A nut component (3) is connected to the second element. Independent claims are included for: (1) a flame with a torch body and cutting nozzle; and (2) a process for oxy-cutting a piece of a material containing carbon steel.
