PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a xylan derivative and a method of producing the same for effectively using unutilized biomass as plastic materials, a xylan derivative precursor and a method of producing the same, a xylan graft copolymer and a method of producing the same, and a polymer molded product.;SOLUTION: In the xylan derivative precursor, at least one of hydrogen atoms in hydroxyl groups of xylan having a structural unit represented by structural formula (1), wherein n represents the polymerization degree, is substituted by a halogen-containing group or a substituent having an azide group.
