PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve estimation accuracy of precipitation intensity through a single polarimetric radar.SOLUTION: A precipitation intensity estimation system includes an optimization device 103 and an estimation device 104. The optimization device 103 optimizes each parameter based on an error between precipitation intensity obtained by applying a radar equation with each parameter temporarily set to reception power 11 of single polarimetric radar 101 and the precipitation intensity 12 observed by an MP radar 102 which has an observation range geographically overlapping that of the single polarimetric radar 101. The estimation device 104 estimates the precipitation intensity 14 by applying the radar equation with the optimized parameters 13 to the reception power 11 of the single polarimetric radar 101.
