PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize various religious services (electronic prayer, avatar prayer, robot prayer, blessing of fulfillment of prayer, display of direction of holy ground) by accessing a desired religious temple from a portable communication terminal.;SOLUTION: An electronic prayer system includes: a temple server recording and preserving therein video images of a temple, religious services, sutras and the like; an electronic prayer management server for collectively managing a plurality of temple servers; a portable terminal for utilizing religious services; and a prayer robot. The electronic prayer management server connects a portable terminal of a prayer and the temple server of a desired temple over the Internet, an avatar prayer system is created for enabling a prayer to be offered through eyes of an avatar by utilizing virtual reality technologies, and a system is created for offering a prayer by moving the prayer robot toward a main shrine of the temple not virtually but really as a vicarious visitor of a prayer when the prayer selects robot prayer from the portable terminal.
