PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resonant oscillator ensuring high vibration speed, and to provide an ultrasonic surgical instrument using this resonant oscillator.;SOLUTION: The resonant oscillator comprises a diaphragm 52, a piezoelectric element 54 consisting of a piezoelectric film and an upper electrode, in which the difference of Young's modulus between the diaphragm 52 and the piezoelectric film is within 20% that of the diaphragm 52.
