PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the estimation accuracy of an aspect, azimuth, and the entire length of a target in an underwater target detector.;SOLUTION: A driving signal ad is provided from an oscillator 31 to an echo sounder transmitter 32, and a sound wave pulse ap is transmitted. Direct waves df, de and multipath waves mf, me of a reflection wave when the sound wave pulse ap reaches a target 20 are received together, and a reception signal wr is output by an echo sounder receiver 33. The reception signal wr is input, directivity synthesis is performed to a reception wave beam so as to orient the target 20, and a synthetic reception signal tr is output by a reception wave directivity synthesis part 34. A multipath wave reception signal is removed based on information for specifying the time width of a preliminarily held multipath wave reception signal from the synthetic reception signal tr, and direct wave reception signals dr corresponding to the direct waves df, de are output by a multipath correction part 35. A correlation value between the direct wave reception signals dr with mutually different phases is calculated based on the direct wave reception signals dr, and the target 20 is detected by a correlation processing part 36.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
