PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water seal trough device of a rotary hearth furnace and a method of removing falling objects deposited in the water seal trough device, capable of recovering the falling objects inside the water seal trough without using a scraper installed in a rotary hearth in the water seal trough device of a hearth of the rotary hearth furnace.;SOLUTION: The water seal trough device is installed in order to prevent gas leakage inside a furnace from between a sidewall and the hearth in the rotary hearth furnace having the hearth covered with a ceiling and the sidewall continuous to the ceiling. In the water seal trough device of the rotary hearth furnace, the water seal trough device includes the water seal trough 1 for holding water inside, a water supply tank 3 for storing the water discharged from the water seal trough 1, and a circulation pump 2 for supplying the water inside the water supply tank 3 to the water seal trough 1, and thus the water inside the water seal trough 1 is circulated.
