PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a painted surface inspection device of a painted object which prevents burning of the painted surface using illumination means consisting of an LED, eliminates inspection unevenness by difference in colors of the painted surface of a vehicle to raise inspection ratio, and raises radiation performance of a light source of the inspection device to prevent a failure and shorter life resulting from thermal runaway, etc., and a painted surface inspection method of the painted object using the device.;SOLUTION: An inspection device of a painted surface includes an LED holding device with an LED as a light source capable of irradiating a light emission color according to hue of the painted surface on the painted surface of the painted object, inspects the painted surface of the painted object based on reflected light of light irradiated by the LED from the painted surface, in which the LED holding device is equipped with: a holding base for annularly arranging a plurality of types of LEDs with different color development by every plurality of pieces; a plurality of heat sinks arranged at predetermined intervals behind the holding base; and a vertical lever for inserting the holding base and the heat sinks to be connected and fixed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
