How to select a suitable dog for a guide dog

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective method for selecting guide dogs which is useful for rearing seeing-eye dogs. PSOLUTION: The method is for selecting dogs for selecting dogs that have genetic qualities beneficial as seeing-eye dogs and comprises examining of a single nucleotide polymorphism existing in the allele of 157th base and/or 246th base of a serotonin receptor 1B (5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1B:5-HTR1B) gene of an individual of a specimen dog, and selecting dogs that are suitable as seeing-eye dogs, based on the single nucleotide polymorphism that exists in the allele.
