PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency synthesizer that implements a low spurious characteristic without significantly increasing circuit scale and power consumption.;SOLUTION: The frequency synthesizer includes a phase accumulator (10), a phase-amplitude conversion circuit (20) for outputting a digital signal of amplitude data corresponding to a cumulative value from the phase accumulator, and a digital-analog conversion circuit (30) for outputting an analog signal of amplitude data corresponding to the digital signal from the phase-amplitude conversion circuit. The phase-amplitude conversion circuit (20) linearly approximates a characteristic of amplitude data corresponding to the cumulative value in each of a plurality of segments, modifies a phase data range of compensation data to be used to an appropriate value depending on each segment on the basis of a characteristic of compensation data common to all the segments, and performs error compensation depending on each segment to output the digital signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
