PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily confirm whether a tip opening portion of an outer needle, as well as a tip opening portion of an inner needle, is located inside a blood vessel.SOLUTION: The puncture needle 50 includes: the outer needle 55 formed with a blood suction hole 58 and having a lumen 55a; and the inner needle 51 having a lumen 51a, being inserted into the lumen 55a of the outer needle 55 and having a needle tip 54 projecting further than the tip opening portion of the outer needle 55. In a state where the inner needle 51 is inserted into the lumen 55a of the outer needle 55, a blood pathway for communicating the blood suction hole 58 with the lumen 55a of the outer needle 55 is formed as a part of the lumen 55a of the outer needle 55, between the outer periphery of the inner needle 51 and the inner periphery of the outer needle 55 independently from the lumen 51a of the inner needle 51.
