PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal connector for a handrail capable of regulating torsional rotation of a handrail bar and connecting the handrail bar at various connection angles three-dimensionally.;SOLUTION: This universal connector 1 for the handrail is provided with a main body 10 forming a concaved spherical part 10a, a receiving member 20 for receiving the handrail bar 5, and a fixing screw 30 for attaching the receiving member 20 to the main body 10. The receiving member 20 is provided with a convexed spherical part 20a fitted into the concaved spherical part 10a of the main body 10. A vertical groove 22 and a large-width groove 23 being continuous with the vertical groove 22 and having larger width than that of the vertical groove 22 are formed in this order from the center toward an outer side in the radial direction in the convexed spherical part 20a. A regulation part 33 having square-shaped cross section is provided in a halfway section of the fixing screw 30 and is arranged in the vertical groove 22 or the wide groove 23 in the receiving member 20.
