PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic switch with heat ray sensor in which fall-off of a body from a cover due to pull-off of an engagement pawl from an engagement hole is hard to occur. PSOLUTION: The automatic switch is provided with a housing 2 which supports, capable of swinging a sensor block having a heat ray sensor to detect heat rays emitted from a human body. The housing 2 includes a cover 23 of which on the rear face an insertion engagement recess 23a is open, and a body 21 which is inserted in the insertion engagement recess 23a and constitutes the rear face of the housing 2. An engagement pawl 21a is provided respectively on the right and left both sides of the body 21, and an engagement recess 23b into which the engagement pawl 21a is respectively engaged is opened on the inner face opposed to horizontally of the insertion engagement recess 23a of the cover 23. A fall-off prevention projection 21d which restricts displacement respectively in right and left direction of the body 21 to the cover 23 within such a level as to prevent pulling-off of the engagement pawl 21a from the engagement recess 23b is provided on the right and left both sides of the body 21.
