PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect positional deviation of a position on a second face corresponding to a position on the first face of a sheet type object without forming an exclusive positioning mark or the like. PSOLUTION: When receiving a read signal, characteristic information on random change distributed in a paper fingerprint area is read by a reading part (100 and 102). Paper fingerprint information on the paper fingerprint area of paper is stored in a RAM as a reference for detecting positional deviation (104).
