PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable determination of a correction value for correcting a target conveyance amount even when the target conveyance amount to be an object of correction is longer than a length in a conveyance direction of a nozzle array.;SOLUTION: A first pattern is formed on a medium by nozzles of the conveyance direction upstream side of the nozzle array comprised of a plurality of nozzles arranged at predetermined intervals. The medium is conveyed in the conveyance direction by the target conveyance amount shorter than the length in the conveyance direction of the nozzle array. A second pattern which forms a boundary with the first pattern is formed on the medium by the nozzles of the conveyance direction downstream side of the nozzle array. Moreover, a third pattern is formed on the medium by the nozzles of the conveyance direction upstream side of the nozzle array. The medium is conveyed in the conveyance direction by the target conveyance amount shorter than the length in the conveyance direction of the nozzle array so that a conveyance amount of the medium after the first pattern is formed becomes longer than the length in the conveyance direction of the nozzle array.
