PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely obtain an sealed glass tube for an electrodeless lamp having various sizes.;SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for the sealed glass tube, a small diameter glass tube 3 having open ends at both ends is inserted in a large diameter glass tube 2 having a closed and sealed end surface 20 formed at its one end from an opening at its another end, one end surface of the small diameter glass tube 3 is welded to the sealed end surface 20 of the large diameter glass tube 2, and the open fringe at one end of the small diameter glass tube is jointed so as to form a circumference by making a through hole formed in the sealed end surface communicate with the inside space of the small diameter glass tube.
