PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for sharing a virtual tape volume in a virtual tape library device by a plurality of hosts permitted to access it. PSOLUTION: The virtual tape volume is safely shared among the hosts without largely changing the mechanism of the conventional virtual tape library device by not directly delivering a volume operation command from the host to a virtual library control part as before, but by delivering it to the virtual library control part after receiving access regulation through the access management part of a virtual library I/F or the like.
