PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizing material for an oven hood fan capable of keeping a deodorizing capacity over a long period of time, and the oven hood fan equipped with the deodorizing material. PSOLUTION: The deodorizing material 11 has a continuous porous structure based on a hydrated magnesium silicate clay mineral, and moisture, an oil and fat component and a smell component are adsorbed by the hydrated magnesium silicate clay mineral, and the oil and fat component and the smell component are oxidized and hydrolyzed by the hydrated magnesium silicate clay mineral by its catalytic action. A grease filter 21 is arranged on the upstream side of the deodorizing material 11 based on the hydrated magnesium silicate clay mineral while an activated carbon filter 31 having a continuous porous structure is arranged on the downstream side of the deodorizing material 11, and the oil and fat component and the smell component contained in ascending air streams C are removed by the cooperation of the grease filter 21 and the activated carbon filter 31, and dust occurring from the deodorizing material 11 and the activated carbon filter 31 is removed by a dust removing filter 41 to circulate clean air into a room.
