METHOD APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATED CLASSIFICATION OF BOTANICAL HERBS USING LEAF MORPHOLOGY

A user friendly system is designed for recognition and classification of medicinal herb used in Ayurveda based on leaf Morphology. This system for Automated Classification of Medicinal Herbs is a field of computer vision research which deals with automated identification of plant species using leaf Morphology. The invention concerns a system comprising of Client Side Module consisting of Image Acquisition Preprocessing and Output Display which captures the image and prepares it for subsequent activities in the later stages Server Side Unit comprising of the leaf Retrieval Unit which extracts the features of the leaf and classifies accordingly. The invention is described by way of example with reference to FIG. 1 of sheet 1 describes the generalized view of plant leaf classification and Fig 2 of sheet 2 describes the Workflow diagram of Leaf Recognition System for Ayurveda.
