The invention relates to a resistive plate chamber detector for carrying out time-of- flight measurements. According to the invention, the detector comprises a central electrode having on either side some reading tracks made of copper electrically connected to one another, 6 high-resistive glass electrodes being arranged on either side of the central electrode and parallel thereto, two of these electrodes being in direct contact with the central electrode, while the other glass electrodes are in direct contact with two electrodes on which a high voltage is applied, the last ones and the central electrode and the two lateral glass electrodes having an identical structure of the electroconductive tracks, the symmetrical electroconductive parts on the lateral electrodes being connected to one another, the electroconductive tracks on the high voltage electrodes being connected to one another by means of some resistors, the entire packet functioning with a mixture comprising 85% of CFH, 10% SFand 5% CHZand it is limited by two lateral reading electrodes.
