The invention relates to an ecological intake of water free of mechanical impurities resulting from the rapid mountain river stream beds. According to the invention, the intake comprises three main parts, namely an upstream sill (1) playing the role of taking over the water from the river natural stream bed and directing it towards a harnessed stream bed, a downstream sill (2) playing the role of taking over the water from the intake and directing it towards the user, giving the river the returned flow and eliminating the discharge of solids, and a connection channel (3) between the upstream sill (1) and the downstream sill (2) playing the role of taking over the water from the upstream sill (1) and of directing it on a stage (I), of allowing the passage thereof from one stage (I) to another stage (II) with an initial roughing, of permitting the returned flow to pass over the downstream sill (2), of performing the dynamic exclusion of the sediment from the water of the last stage (II) with continuous washing and of delivering it without sediments to the user through the downstream sill (2).
