Device for encoding an information signal in an encoded information signal, with: means (16) for determining a representation of a motivated psychoperception threshold, which indicates a portion of the irrelevant information signal with respect to perceptibility, using a perceptual model ; means (18) for filtering the information signal, to normalize the information signal on the motivated threshold of psychoperception, to obtain a prefiltered signal; means (20) for predicting the prefiltered signal in an adaptive forward fashion to obtain a predicted signal, a prediction error for the prefiltered signal and a representation of prediction coefficients, based on which the prefiltered signal can be reconstructed; and a means (22) for quantifying the prediction error, to obtain a quantified prediction error, the encoded information signal comprising information on the representation of the motivated threshold of psychoperception, the representation of the prediction coefficients and the quantified prediction error .
