Method for the separation of existing steam after disinfection in a washing chamber (2) automatic washing and disinfection machines (1) of wedges and similar sanitary articles, characterized by the following phases: - cold air injection inside the washing chamber (2), in which the air is mixed with the steam, - transport of the mixture of air and steam to a first duct (11), - condensation of the steam in the first duct (11) by spraying cold water, - evacuation of the sprayed water and the condensation water into a drain pipe (4), a section of pipe (3) connecting the washing chamber (2) with the drain pipe (4) being provided and the first branch duct (11) from this section of duct (3) or flowing into it, and - evacuation of the air into an outer space.
