The invention relates to a personal document in the form of a book, comprisinga book cover (2), a multi-layered personalised side (3, 4, 5)which containspersonalised data (8), in addition to inner pages. The personalised side (3,4, 5) and the inner pages are secured to the book cover (2) by means of a seam(15). The multi-layered personalising side (3, 4, 5) is provided with acentral area (3) which is made of a textile layer which is joined on bothsides to a thermoplastic layer which covers the central area until theprojecting end (19). A RFID element comprising an IC element is integratedinto the central area (3) for the contactless transfer of biometric data ofthe personal document owner. The personalised side is sewn by means of a seam(15) in the region of the projecting end.
