The invention relates to the electrical insulation of a busbar (2) in a busbar trunking system for electrical energy distribution. The invention relates in particular to an insulation arrangement (1), to an insulating element (12) for use in such an insulating arrangement (1), and to a correspondingly insulated busbar (2). A technique is proposed for the simplified insulation of busbars (2) in busbar trunking systems, in which the following are provided: a first sheet-like insulating element (9) for covering at least a part of a lateral face (3) of the busbar (2) and a further insulating element (12) for covering an end face (4) of the busbar (2) in a region (13) in which the run of the busbar (2) changes direction, wherein said further insulating element (12) is adapted to the busbar (2) and is appropriately pre-formed.
